Calvary Student Travel

Susan Tigert

This fall, we will take a group of high school students to participate in Disney’s YES program.  Disney designed their Youth Education Series to cater to the curious minds of our students and help them explore behind the scenes of the Disney parks. Since we are participating in this program, we will gain access to Magic Kingdom two hours before the park opens to the general public. Then we will participate in the Properties of Motion Lab where we will experience physics in practical application as our guides demonstrate force, motion, and gravity at work in some of the most popular attractions at Magic Kingdom park, including Space Mountain. Then students will be able to enjoy the park for the rest of day as well as two more event-filled days at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

Then in the spring, a group of our high school students and some parents will take the big adventure and travel to Italy. We are using a Christian tour company, Joshua Expeditions, to guide us through Milan, Venice, Florence, and Rome, and each city will be experienced through a biblical lens. We will spend eight days in country and have opportunities to experience the culture, the food, and fantastic sights of this beautiful country. Trip highlights include the Vatican, the Colosseum, Juliet’s balcony in Verona, and a gondola ride in Venice, only naming a few.

Both of these trip opportunities for high school students open doors to new experiences and special memories  We hope that during each student’s time at Calvary, he/she will take advantage of some or all of these opportunities to journey with us.
