At Calvary Day School, learning extends far beyond the traditional classroom. Our one-of-a-kind STEM and Nature Center gives students the rare opportunity to engage with living ecosystems right on campus, transforming curiosity into discovery through hands-on, real-world experiences.

The Calvary STEM and Nature Center is currently home to thirteen distinct species of reptiles, five of which are exotic. Our wildlife exhibition permit from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) allows us to house the other eight, all of which are Georgia native reptiles. This extraordinary learning space on campus makes it easy to create cross-curricular, project-based lessons that connect students directly to the natural world. From exploring God’s purposeful design and thermodynamics to practicing Spanish verb conjugations, the STEM and Nature Center provides hands-on experiences and exciting learning opportunities for students from Pre-K through 12th grade.
Students can meet a rescued Eastern Box Turtle, Yellow-Bellied Sliders, and a Diamondback Terrapin, alongside exotic species like a Ball Python, a Leopard Gecko, a Bearded Dragon, and a Sulcata Tortoise. Each animal has a unique story, including Tupelo and Cypress, our young American Alligators from Gatorland in Orlando, FL, and Keyno, the escape-artist Leopard Gecko, offering students a safe and engaging way to explore habitats, behavior, and the differences between native and exotic species.
