Dancing with the Calvary Stars

Written By: Morgan Starling - Assistant Director of Development
Today’s world is rapidly changing. As parents, grandparents, family, and friends, we all want to protect our children in the best way possible. Calvary Day School is taking action to better improve the security of our campus. We are currently working to update the external doors on our campus to a card swipe entry for faculty and students. Some of the doors have already been updated in the Early Learning Center. Essentially our campus will remain a “locked” campus 24 hours of the day. The campus will also receive 72 new cameras, bringing our total to 150 security cameras. We are setting out to make Calvary Day School’s campus one of the safest in the Southeast.

In order to fund this project without increasing tuition, we are hosting Dancing with the Calvary Stars on February 9th, 2019 at 5:30 pm in the Tippet Gymnasium. The proceeds from the event will support the security initiative on our campus. The Saturday evening will begin with dinner provided by Tin Fin Restaurant. Then our show will open with a performance by the Calvary Kindergarten students. Others dancing in the event are:

Christie Palmer
Dr. Blake Jones ‘07
Garrett Brinson ‘99
JC Upton ‘20
John Davis ‘85 / Donna Moody ‘79
Madeline Nguyen ‘20
Tim Patten
Tap routine performed by Trisha Daniels, Kayley Jacobs, Kimberly Jacobs, Cassidy Lance Willard, Donna Dauphinee, and Tiffany Nichols Purnell

The five judges will award a Top Dancer, and the Top Fundraiser will be announced at the end of the night. After the last dancer has completed their three minute routine, voting will open up for the Viewer’s Choice Award. The performances will be videoed and posted online for those unable to attend to view. During the next 24 hours, fans will have the chance to vote for the dancer they think had the best performance. Each vote costs $1. The Viewer’s Choice Award will be announced live on social media Sunday night from the Calvary Cafeteria at 6 pm on February 10th.

We invite you to join us for a family fun night of entertainment. Please consider supporting us by making your tax deductible donation to Calvary Day School and mark DWTCS in the information section. We will make the most of your generosity! Together we can increase the safety of our campus for all Cavaliers.
