Family STEM Night

Joseph Almeida

What is STEM? Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Science is everything around us. Technology is a huge part of our lives and is changing daily. Engineering is the basic designs of roads and bridges, but also tackles the challenges of changing global weather and environmentally-friendly changes to our home. Math is in every occupation, every activity we do in our lives. By exposing students to STEM and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related concepts, we hope they will develop a passion for it and hopefully pursue a job in a STEM field.

Why is STEM education so important for our students? Well, according to the US Department of Commerce, STEM jobs are growing at 17% while other jobs are growing at 9.8%, STEM degree holders have a higher average annual salary that non-STEM degree holders. STEM workers play a key role in the sustained growth and stability of the US economy and are critical to helping the US stay competitive internationally.

Please join us this Thursday evening to observe our exciting STEM program!
