Today was our final Chapel of the 2020-2021 school year. Every Thursday at 9:40 a.m. our Middle and Upper School students meet to celebrate, learn, and worship God. Teachers, faculty, staff, and pastors give their time each week to pour into our students as they navigate through life. But today was different. Today was the last day that we joined together in Chapel with the Class of 2021. Today was the last day our seniors sang their sweet praises to the Lord on the stage. Today was the last day our seniors led and guided their peers in this setting. Emotions were high as we listened to Mr. Whelan and Mrs. Kittles speak about God’s legacy and the plan He has for our seniors. Their encouraging words and advice for not only the Class of 2021, but also the classes to follow, were lessons that our students will think back on as they journey through life.
At the end of the service, all faculty and staff members were invited to gather around the seniors and pray over them as they embark on this new chapter in their lives. It was endearing to hear all of the sweet and thoughtful prayers spoken over our seniors. Although it was bittersweet to see these students in Chapel for the last time, we know God will use them in instrumental ways wherever He calls them to serve His Kingdom.
