NJHS Serves at Special Olympics

The Special Olympics was inspiring to see, watching the kids be so happy and have fun when we get mad over every little thing. ~Ryan Merklinger

The best part of helping out was watching the kids faces light up when they reached the finish line and we were there cheering for them and giving out their ribbons. ~Beverly Cobb

It was a heartwarming event to see how excited and competitive the kids were. Even with their disabilities, they were great athletes whether they won or lost. ~Hayden Maynor

I saw how blessed we really are. Those kids had smiles the whole time and were just happy to be there. ~Cameron Selders

I ran with a little boy for the 200 meter and when he saw the finish line, he looked at me and said, "we can do it." ~Tynley Smeltzer

The Special Olympics taught me that even though the kids were disabled they could do certain tasks just like anyone else. ~Emanuel Jones
