Great Additions to Calvary Day’s Middle School

Cory Martin

As I mentioned earlier, the start of the school year can bring a lot of “new” for all involved, and this year we are blessed to have some great staff additions in middle school. With that in mind, I want to introduce them so that our students and families can see how amazing each of them truly are.

  • Sandy Hunt - Mrs. Hunt will be working in our science department and teaching Life Science, Physical Science, Medical Magnet, and a new elective. Design and Innovation. She has a tremendous passion for her content and students, which is evident in every conversation you will have with her.
  • Pam Stroud - Mrs. Stroud is no stranger to Calvary, as she is the wife of our head football coach, Mark Stroud. However, she is new to our teaching staff, and we are excited about the wealth of experience and wisdom she will bring to the classroom. Mrs. Stroud will be teaching sixth grade math and also helping out in the Enrichment Center.
  • Maggie Midkiff - Ms. Midkiff will also be working in our science department and teaching Environmental Science, Earth Science, and a middle school elective. She has a tremendous passion for nature and the outdoors, which will only help her to create a great classroom experience for her students. She attended Berry College and will also be helping out as an assistant coach for soccer, which she played in college.
  • T’Nai Wilkins - Ms. Wilkins will be working with our middle school students in Chorus, Song and Stage, and in other fine arts endeavours. Ms. Wilkins truly has a passion for music, and I am looking forward to the fun and excitement she will bring to the choral arts program at Calvary. She has degrees in Visual & Performing Arts, as well as Vocal Performance, both of which will be tremendous assets to her in the classroom and beyond.
  • Mark Stroud - We are excited about the return of Coach Stroud as our head football coach, but also about the opportunity for him to help in developing our students spiritually in our 8th grade Bible classes. He will be a great mentor to our middle school students as he has the opportunity to talk about character, leadership, and many other topics from a Christian worldview.

I am extremely excited about the 2017-2018 school year and beyond. We have so many new things at the middle school level such as increased 1:1 technology, middle school student life events, and even our first middle school career day. The future looks incredibly bright, and we are honored to get to partner with each family as we attempt to develop well-rounded students who are committed to growing academically, socially, athletically, and spiritually.

Looking forward to a great year!
