Calvary’s Scholastic Book Fair Provides Student Book Choice

Kim Zellner
Thank you for making our Book Fair week such a huge success! While it is great to see an amazing turnout for special events and to have great sales totals, the primary purpose of Calvary’s Scholastic Book Fair is to put books in the hands of our students. This year our families, through supporting the Book Fair, will have put over $3500 of new books in our library collection, providing our students with a wealth of books in all genres, interests, and grade levels.

Book choice is a primary factor for students becoming readers, and our library staff works diligently to provide a large selection of diverse books for all of our students. One of my favorite quotes is, “There are no reluctant readers, just kids who haven’t found their choice yet.” Providing a wide variety of literature is essential to any successful reading program. We want to find the right book for the right student. The Book Fair provides a great avenue for us to purchase more books and build a better collection each year, thus providing that right fit for all students.

A special “Thank You!” to all who helped make this year’s Book Fair a huge success! We appreciate your desire to develop lifelong readers at Calvary Day School.
