HOPE/Zell Scholarship Guidelines

To Qualify for the Zell Scholarship one must:
  • Have a 3.7 Academic GPA.
  • Have earned a 1200 on the SAT or a 26 on the ACT at one test sitting.
  • Have 4 rigor classes in high school.
To maintain the scholarship while college, the student must earn a 3.3 GPA at each checkpoint.  

To Quality for the HOPE scholarship one must:
  • Have a 3.0 academic GPA.
  • Have 4 rigor classes in high school.
To maintain the scholarship while in college, the student must earn a 3.0 at each checkpoint.

Checkpoints for both scholarships are after every spring semester and after completion of 30, 60, and/or 90 hours.

The scholarships pay only for tuition. Zell covers 100% of tuition costs. The HOPE scholarship pays approximately 90% of tuition costs.

One may lose the scholarship once and earn it back. The scholarships are good for seven years after high school graduation.
