Calvary Day Students are Musical Explorers

Mary Ann Mulvehill
The students learn songs from different cultures and participate in musical exercises that incorporate history, geography, literacy, math, and social studies. At the end of each semester, students from all over Savannah and the surrounding areas gather together to meet and sing with the professional musicians that they have been learning about. The genres explored this year are Ring Shout, Blues, Opera, Jazz, Bluegrass, and African-American Gospel and Spirituals. This year one of our own KinderCavs was able to participate on stage during the Knee Bone Bend from the Ring Shout genre. We are so grateful to this program and to the businesses who make it financially possible.
