“Revive Us Again” - The Cavalier Cry at Calvary Day School

Dr. Patrick Mulvehill
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - Chronicles 7:14

Our goal at Calvary Day School is to provide an environment where this type of transparency before God is a daily practice in the life of our staff and students. One way that we do this is to provide an online community that strives to shield our family from the negative influences so easily found on the internet today. We want our students to be able to embrace the technology of the future without the influence of the world subtly slipping into their experience. We also want to train them to be good digital citizens while encouraging them to be good Kingdom citizens as well.

William Paton Mackay, a Scottish Presbyterian minister, wrote these lines in his hymn titled “O Lord, Revive Thy Work”. This hymn appears in hymnals today as “Revive Us Again.”

“Revive us again; fill each heart with Thy love; may each soul be rekindled with fire from above. Hallelujah, Thine the glory! Hallelujah, amen! Hallelujah, Thine the glory! Revive us again.”

We want every aspect of our community at Calvary Day School to reflect the cry of this text: “Revive us again, O Lord. Revive us again!”
