Mrs. Herndon’s Engineering Class
Students in Mrs. Herndon’s Engineering class recently completed a project where they designed, analyzed, built, and tested a balsa wood glider. The Whitebox Learning Virtual Environment provided 3-D modeling, analysis, and simulation tools to help students employ the Engineering Design Process to develop the glider, and once they constructed it, they selected a commercial airline paint scheme to use on their glider. This project helped students learn and apply the basic principles of aerodynamics and flight through a hands-on application.
