Visiting Colleges and Experiencing the Immense Opportunities

Stacey Mell
I have learned personally through my own college admission process journey with two sons that I should follow my own advice about visiting colleges and universities. I have been afforded the most wonderful opportunities to be able to visit college campuses throughout the country. This experience has broadened my knowledge base, expanded my awareness of collegiate differences and understanding the uniqueness of so many schools. I am able to return to Calvary with the a wealth of knowledge that I am able to pass on to my students. I have had the privilege of hiking through the beautiful, animal-friendly mountain campus at Berry College; walking through the historic town streets of Northampton to Smith College; experiencing the breathtaking views of Amherst; riding the Boilermaker train at Purdue; having the opportunity to see new inventions being created at Mercer; taking a tour of the “real life” baby simulator at Florida Southern; sitting in a psychology class at the historic Mt. Holyoke; observing a DJ spinning class at Hampshire; learning about the fast track graduate programs at Nova Southeastern; and touring Tillman Tower at Winthrop, along with so many other wonderful experiences that make each and every college special and unique.

Please take the time to visit, giving your full attention to each college so that you will be able to find your student’s perfect college match. Matching a college is not a prize to be won, it is a journey to enjoy, savor, and learn.
