Calvary's STEM and Nature Center

On Friday, May 7th, Calvary Day School joined together as students, parents, faculty, and staff were finally able to fellowship in person at Spring Fling. We have many things to celebrate as our school year comes to an end, one of those being the STEM and Nature Center, which was added to our campus to enhance the learning experience for all of our students. We welcomed these new additions to Calvary Day School at Spring Fling with a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Calvary STEM and Nature Center and the completion of the first 3 phases of the outdoor activity and future horticulture and aquaponic area. Today we are proud to be the home of the largest turf play center as well as the only school permitted Georgia Wildlife Exhibition program. 

 

Natalie Helbling, STEM teacher and Nature Center Coordinator, has been an integral asset throughout the creation of the Nature Center, “I was so happy to welcome our community members into our new edition of Calvary’s STEM program. It was exciting to see parents and siblings finally meet all of our animal ambassadors and watch them become more comfortable around some of our students' favorite reptiles!”  We would like to thank everyone who helped make this a reality for our students! “This space is such a unique educational opportunity for our students and families. As our STEM program continues to grow, this addition provides a place for  integration and collaboration used by all grade levels and subject areas, where Calvary students can learn and enjoy God’s incredible creation!” Sandy Hunt, Director of Academics and Special Programs.
