It is my true honor and privilege to extend a warm welcome to all families and students at Calvary Day School. High School is time for riding an emotional roller coaster – times can be exciting and new, and then, times can be frightening because of the unknown. During high school, I encourage students to begin seeking God’s calling for their lives. The Bible clearly states that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made, and we are designed for a specific purpose. Being in tune with the Holy Spirit so He can guide us in our daily choices is critical to fulfilling that purpose.

Knowing and understanding one’s calling can be done through a relationship with Jesus, and that can only be accomplished through a daily prayer life. Psalm 37:4 states that we are to delight ourselves in the Lord, and He will give us the desires of our heart. Having daily conversations with the Lord establishes that relationship and helps us to stay in step with the path He has planned for us. High school is a perfect time to begin shaping and molding oneself in order to prepare for our calling. Many times this begins with setting priorities. There are many choices students must make concerning academics, extra-curricular activities, athletics, faith, and friends. This is a prime time to use those choices to begin to pave a way for the future. Calvary is a college preparatory school, so there is a high level of expectation for performance on students. It is important for students to realize how choices and priorities today do affect their tomorrow.

My prayer for every student who walks through the doors of Calvary Day School is that he/she feels loved, challenged, supported, and led to pursue God’s calling in life. I look forward to being a part of each student’s educational journey as well as spiritual journey here at Calvary. My door is always open.

“For I know the plans I have for you; to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
