    Cavalier Families,
We have arrived on the 14th day of school and as promised, we have re-evaluated the COVID - 19 numbers and protocol at school. We have consulted with our Health and Wellness task force and our school nurses, and we will remain in Phase 1 of the COVID-19 protocol outlined in the CDS Health and Wellness Policies.
While our numbers stay low at school, we want to remain diligent about being safe on campus. As a reminder, parents will be notified if their child is identified as a close contact with a person with COVID-19. Options will be provided for students regarding a safe return date to school and school activities according to our current guidelines. We will have additional vaccine clinics on August 30 and September 13.

    Cavalier Families,
Below is our weekly Health and Wellness update. As a reminder, we are still in Phase 1 of the Covid protocol outlined in the CDS Health and Wellness policies.

As a reminder, parents will be notified if their child is identified as a close contact to a person with COVID-19. You will be provided options for your child regarding a safe return date to school and school activities according to our current guidelines. Our goal is to keep our students healthy and on campus as much as possible.
Monday, August 23, Compounding Solutions Pharmacy & Wellness will be on campus at 11:45 a.m. to provide the Pfizer-BioNtech COVID vaccine on a voluntary basis to our registered students that are over 12 years of age. The CDC, AAP, and DPH recommend the COVID vaccine for those age 12 and up. The second dose will be administered on campus as well. If you desire for your student to receive the vaccine during this clinic, please register them on the link below. A required consent form will be emailed to you and returned with your student on Monday or emailed prior to 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 23.
You can also visit to find vaccine sites near you. Most of the Publix supermarkets, CVS, Walgreens, Sam’s Clubs and Krogers are offering appointments.
If you would like to go through the local Department of Public Health, please visit to schedule an appointment.
Please continue to pray for our students, staff, families, and community. We are trusting God to provide healing, comfort, and peace. Email or call 644-5080 ext. 1310 if you have any questions or concerns regarding symptoms, exposure to a positive case, or to report a test result. *Please notify us of all positive and negative test results.

Welcome to a new school year! I am so happy to see everyone on campus and I look forward to all God has planned for each of us at Calvary. As a new school year begins, it is very important for all parents to do the following:
    • Update student medical information located in the medical portion of OnCampus. This includes medical conditions, allergies, and medications.
    • Provide the most recent Certificate of Immunization Form 3231 for students. Send in or email to by Friday, August 27. Each student must have a current DPH Form 3231 or Form 2208 (Affidavit of Religious Objection to Immunization) to attend school. Please call me if you need guidance.
The nurse office is located in the Upper School building behind the Main Office. I am usually in the office but there are times I may be away attending to needs in the ELC, Lower, or Middle School. If you would like to meet with me or bring in medication, please call or email so I know what time to expect you. As a nurse and mother, I am familiar with childhood illnesses, including nerves and fears. Please know that I will always try to keep your child at school and will call you if conversation is needed.
By now I hope you all have read the Calvary Day School Health & Wellness FAQ (see below) for specifics on how we will handle COVID cases. You will receive notification from me if your child has been identified as a close contact and options will be provided. The most important thing you can do is monitor your child for any symptoms or changes in their health and keep them home until you are certain anything transmissible has passed.
While we have access to a number of guidelines, and can take guidance from so many places, we trust God first but look to our leadership team, Health & Safety Task Force, and experiences to make sound decisions for the good of our Calvary family.
Please email or call Ext 1310 with any questions.

Dear CDS Athletic Students, Parents and Families,
In response to the Phase 1 protocols the school will be taking due to the COVID-19 increase in our community, I have updated the Athletics protocol with the guidance of the Leadership team, CDS Health and Wellness Task force and CDC guidelines. These guidelines will be evaluated every 14 days or if anything changes that requires us to make an adjustment.
Phase 1 for athletics includes required masks in situations where athletes, coaches and families are indoors and unable to be properly distanced. We also ask that anyone experiencing symptoms consistent with that of COVID remain out of practice until they are free of symptoms for 24 hours without medicine. The following CDC protocol will be used to address exposure to a positive and those testing positive:
Quarantine for 10 days if you have been in close contact (within 6 feet of someone for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period) with someone who has COVID-19, unless you have been fully vaccinated. People who are fully vaccinated do NOT need to quarantine after contact with someone who had COVID-19 unless they have symptoms. However, fully vaccinated people should get tested 3-5 days after their exposure, even if they don’t have symptoms and wear a mask indoors in public for 14 days following exposure or until their test result is negative. People who are not vaccinated will need to be quarantined for 10 days or may choose to get PCR tested after day 5 and return day 8 with a negative test, as long as they remain without symptoms.
If you have been infected with the virus based on a positive test, isolate yourself for 10 days, even if you don't have symptoms and you are vaccinated.
Athletes and coaches who are vaccinated-in-quarantine status will be allowed to practice and compete but will be asked to wear a mask as much as possible, socially distance and to stay out if any symptoms arise. If an athlete is quarantined or in isolation during a tryout, that athlete will be given an opportunity to tryout on their return.
Suzy Cail, our school nurse, and the CDS Task Force will be closely monitoring the situation. Please email with any positive case, exposure or questions regarding these guidelines. It is important that we as a school family protect each other, being transparent with information will help.

    Calvary Day School Family,
The 2021-2022 school year is almost here. Last year, we prayed for more answers than questions when dealing with the COVID crisis. I ask that you continue to pray for our community. With the help of our families, students, alumni network, faculty, medical professionals and school supporters we were able to open on time, stay in school and remain in person for more days than any other school. When other organizations were shutting down, pausing and modifying, we were able to stand strong together. God blessed us with school growth (over 40% in one year), new faculty, and retention that has been far beyond what we could have ever asked for.
We have renovated over 100,000 square feet in preparation for growth and to help keep our school community healthy and safe. Our goal is to open on August 11, 2021 face-to-face while listening to health professionals, consulting with our CDS Health and Wellness Task Force, and asking God for wisdom, knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6). We will enter the school year in Phase I of our CDS Health and Wellness Policies and Protocols which will require face coverings during identified times of the day. (See policies and procedures linked below.) Our plan will be reviewed every 14 days.
I pray you will join me in doing everything possible to allow our students to enjoy another year of face-to-face education with all the co-curricular activities. I look forward with great anticipation of the days ahead and the return of students, faculty, staff and families to campus as we once again stand together as the best example of what a Christian community caring for one another, striving for excellence and desiring to honor our Lord and Savior in all we say and do.
    Go Cavs!
    In Him,
    Dr. Hunter Chadwick
