Calvary Day School provides students numerous opportunities to make a positive impact in their community, and Calvary students log approximately 12,000 hours of community service each year. Whether a student wants to develop a large-scale service project or simply help one person at a time in his or her neighborhood, faculty and staff will provide assistance at any step of the way. One goal of Calvary is to prepare a heart in each student that is excited to be a servant-leader through providing service opportunities with peers, mentoring opportunities, and leadership development.

Each year, Calvary students participate in a service project to help others during the Christmas season. Some years, students have participated with Operation Christmas Child to touch the lives of children all over the world, many living in dire conditions. Our students have joined together with families and churches to provide hundreds of shoe boxes for the project. In other years, students have been involved in collecting backpacks and supplies for children in Appalachia. For this project, students purchased a backpack for a needy child and then went to Wal-Mart with the entire Upper School to purchase supplies to fill the backpack. Whatever the cause, Calvary students enjoy serving God by serving others.
