Mission Statement

To provide student-athletes an elite athletic experience with intense daily training along with an excellent academic experience at Calvary Day School.

Brief Overview

The Soccer Academy at Calvary Day School is designed to create a program where students can excel on the field and in the classroom at an elite level. The academy will create opportunities for students in grades 6-12 who want to pursue the sport of soccer by giving them ample time on the state-of-the-art Specialty Sports Complex field each day. Students will also receive a world-class education at Calvary Day School where they will be challenged academically to pursue excellence.

The soccer training will be organized and coached by several of the best coaches in the Southeast. The Director of Coaching Darren Bloodworth, who holds a UEFA A License coaching qualification, played professionally in England and China. Over the last several years, Darren has worked for Chelsea FC as an Academy Coach. More recently, Darren has worked for Norwich City FC, another Premier League English Club. Darren has also worked with the English Football League as the Director of Coach Education. Members of The Soccer Academy will partake in daily workouts, practices, and training to refine their abilities on the field. After the workouts each day, the students will attend classes at Calvary Day School until 4:00 PM. Students will be required to stay for an additional period at the end of the day to help supplement their time missed in the morning.

The Soccer Academy will give the serious soccer player an opportunity to combine high level training and playing while also experiencing how the young professional players around the world work on a daily basis.
