The Heroes Behind The Scenes At Calvary Day School

4172014067_5d735f2521_bQuite often in our society the individuals who receive recognition and honor are those that take part in activities or areas of service in which everyone can see their actions or efforts. However, I was reminded the other day how important the individuals are that work behind the scenes, helping to support the mission and vision of any organization. As I walked through one of our halls, there was a group of moms gathering together for Bible study and prayer. These special ladies meet each week to take time and pray for our school, faculty, staff, and each of our students. A famous Christian author, S. D. Gordon, once said, “The great people of the earth today are the people who pray, not those who talk about prayer, but I mean those who take time and pray.” I am so thankful for our Moms in Prayer group who are continually covering our campus with prayer. Just knowing that we have parents who are willing to regularly devote some of their time to go before the Lord on our behalf is an overwhelming reminder of how special it is to be a part of the Calvary family.

A little more about Cory Martin...

Cory Martin has his B.S. in biology from the University of Georgia and his M.A. in science & math education from Armstrong Atlantic State University. Martin attends Community Bible Church and gains inspiration from Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” For Cory, the best aspect of his position as the Dean of Curriculum & Instruction is the opportunity to build relationships with students all the while helping each student reach their academic goals. He is thankful for his wife Katie and their new daughter Carter Anne. He loves time spent with his family, sports of any kind, and the Georgia Bulldogs.
