The Admissions Office is in full swing, meeting prospective families wanting to see what Calvary Day School has to offer. Whether it’s our highly competitive academic courses, which boast 33 Honors, Pre-AP, and AP offerings, to our championship athletic teams, or our unapologetically Christian foundation, Calvary is attracting students that simply want the best. Just recently, a father flew in from China to preview the campus and learn more about the foreign exchange program, level of academics that their child will take, and how the host process works for entering high school students. Noticing his smart phone, I suggested he take pictures to help bring the campus classrooms to life, and he has already shared with me his son’s excitement at seeing his future school. Calvary Day School believes that international students add to the richness of the high school setting for both domestic and foreign students. Thus, CDS limits the amount of qualified international students that can enroll. Currently, there are a total of 22 international students, and two are seniors that will be graduating in May! It’s a wonderful opportunity for domestic students to learn about the Chinese culture as well as watch the interaction and relationships form. Calvary Day School has an exclusive partnership with International Academic Group who manages and houses the students in dorm facilities. If you are interested in becoming a host family or simply learning more about our exchange program, I would be happy to introduce you to IAG as home stays are a great way for your family to provide a true American experience.
