We are excited to announce our new Lower School Principal. After weeks of reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates, our hiring committee voted unanimously to hire a seasoned teacher with exceptional leadership experience and a passion for fostering the growth of elementary children. While we interviewed several excellent candidates from schools quite literally around the world, ultimately the best candidate came from within the Calvary family. Mrs. Marianne Chase, one of our current Kindergarten teachers, will be the next leader to guide the continued growth and development of our elementary children and challenge our staff to ever-higher heights.Since coming to Calvary in 2007 Mrs. Chase has taught 1st grade, 2nd grade and most recently Kindergarten. Prior to coming to Calvary, Mrs. Chase served as the Director of a Pre-K program for three years, and was the Principal of an Elementary school for six years. During both experiences Mrs. Chase’s passion for education and developing thriving students produced major gains educationally and nearly doubled the enrollment in both schools. She received high praise from colleagues, parents and students. In addition to great experience, Mrs. Chase holds a BS in Social Work, an MA in Teaching Strategy and is currently completing her Ed.S. in Educational Leadership. We eagerly anticipate the Lord’s continued blessing under the leadership of such a proven educator.
Mrs. Chase stands on the shoulders of the great leaders who have come before. Receiving the nomination for the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence is a major accomplishment for Calvary Day School. With only 50 schools across our nation receiving this illustrious award, the next chapter in the life of Calvary looks remarkably bright.
In the upcoming days we will announce Mrs. Chase to the elementary students, provide a meet and greet time for parents to get to know Mrs. Chase in a more personal way, and we encourage you to personally welcome Mrs. Chase as the next Principal of our Lower School. Mrs. Chase will formally begin in her new role on Monday, April 18th, while also providing leadership in her Kindergarten class as a co-teacher until the end of the year.
The future is bright,
Dr. James E. Taylor
Head of School
