Athletics

Welcome to Calvary Day School’s Athletic program. Our program provides an excellent arena for students to grow physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. As members of the Christian body, we value the importance of individuals working together for a common goal. No matter one’s role in athletics—coach, athlete, spectator, scorekeeper, manager, or volunteer—all must put on the mind of Christ. Philippians 2:1-5 commands us to be united in Spirit, united in purpose, and united in love. We consider others before ourselves in humility, and we demonstrate Christ-like attitudes and behaviors. We desire to labor together as a team that glorifies God, encourages each other in physical and spiritual growth, and exudes Christ’s love to all whom we encounter.

Calvary Day School is a member of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) and follows the code of ethics, constitution, and by-laws established by the GHSA, which are available at the GHSA’s website. Our Middle School participates in the Savannah Parochial Athletic League (SPAL). Additionally, our athletes adhere to Calvary Day School’s sportsmanship code of conduct: As ambassadors for Christ, we humble ourselves before the Lord and allow Him to lift us up. We treat our opponents, officials, and spectators with respect. We respect the property and reputation of our opponents as well as that of our own school. In every situation, we will use sound common sense, judgment, and courtesy.

In addition to seeking success on the playing field, Calvary Day School’s teams desire to draw closer in our relationships with Jesus Christ. We are united spiritually and athletically, and we will strive to develop our God-given abilities to their highest level of performance. We imitate Christ and are testimonies for Him on playing fields and courts, in the classroom, and in our lives outside of school. We use devotions before, after, and often during practice to maintain team unity. It is our personal privilege to work with each athlete and his or her family, and our desire is to facilitate growth in each young person.

We are excited for your family to join us as we build champions through Christ!
